Back Office Connection regularly acts as a gatekeeper for transactions that enter your portfolio management system. Custodians don’t always send the proper transactions in the download. For example, foreign taxes on international positions sent down as wire fees is a common problem, but there are many more that our staff will scrutinize and correct prior to posting. This is also true with monitoring and documenting employee trades and cross trade transactions. We act as an extra set of eyes for the CCO when supervising client and employee trades.

Our services are truly comprehensive in nature. Our competitors generally provide four basic services: download, reconciliation, reporting and billing. Back Office Connection’s services are defined only by two parameters; “Is the task operational in nature?” and “Can we create a procedure to complete the task?”. This allows to us to provide a much more comprehensive set of services which allows advisors to focus on their clients and growing their firm.

We believe that Operations, IT and Compliance are intricately interrelated.

For example:

• Compliance can not properly prepare for an SEC exam without having the Operations department record compliance related information on a daily basis (closed account information, employee trades, etc.).
• Compliance needs the IT infrastructure to automate data backup systems, maintain email archives and maintain Disaster Recovery systems.
• Operations, and the rest of the firm, needs to work closely with IT to make sure that they have a secure, reliable and feature rich technology platform on which they can conduct business.

Back Office Connection’s infrastructure allows you to operate in a completely web based platform regardless of the software you use. All you need is a PC and an internet connection to access all of your data and all of your applications.

Our services are based on hosted applications and data with access via Microsoft Remote Desktop Services.

Microsoft Remote Desktop Services is "Remote Control" software that allows you to access any office documentation or use any application via the internet.  It's similar to an application called "GoToMyPC" but is built by Microsoft and is enterprise level software.

Our network allows us to make applications like Advent’s Axys and Schwab’s Portfolio Center truly web based; along with virtually any other network based application. We load your Portfolio Management Software, your CRM, your Research Software, your Productivity Suite and any other applications onto a virtual server setup exclusively for you.
